Documentary method

Approved text, precise identity, and a clear source

Character pages follow the final published editions, with linguistic editing that neither abridges a biography nor adds facts absent from the source.

The final reference governs the printed name, order, page range, portrait, and included material; paragraphs are edited for language while preserving their meaning and sequence.

Section headings are retained from the approved source rather than replaced with newly written headings; a restrained visual divider is used only where the source section has no heading.
